2.4 Heating Problems
Please remember that the Honeywell ST9400 programmer located in the hall cupboard has to be set to have the heating on for the room thermostats to respond. If the programmer is not on the correct setting then there will be no heating to the underfloor system even if the individual room thermostats are set correctly.
If the heating is not operating, first check that the isolation switch for the Honeywell programmer has not been inadvertently knocked to the OFF position and that it is correctly set. Then check each room thermostat to ensure that the room thermostat is correctly set.
Make sure that there is power to the controllers and that a fuse has not tripped or blown. The underfloor heating circuit fuse will be clearly identified on the consumer unit located in the hallway cupboard.
The Honeywell programmer is mains powered with lifetime battery-back up. The built-in memory holds your programme indefinitely – even if the mains power fails.
If the programmer and room thermostats are correctly set and there is no heat to the room, increase the temperature set point to 23–24C and leave it for 2 hours. If the heating still does not turn on please then treat the matter as a defect and follow the procedures in Section 8.0.
Under no circumstances should you try to investigate and repair the problem yourself or by employing a plumber as damage to the system in an individual apartment could lead to a problem with the operation of the system for the whole development.
